I travel from dawn to dusk #1 (2018)
Metallic film and sunlight

I travel from dawn to dusk #1 (2018) was a temporary installation exhibited at Wergelandshaugen in Norway. The installation took place in the central hallway of the building, where the original ornaments in wood relief paneling function as a unique backdrop for the work.

I travel from dawn to dusk series is a reaction to the architectural qualities of Wergelandshaugen in Eidsvoll, Norway. I reinterpreted the original geometric elements in the woodwork of the building and displayed them on the existing windows. My hand-cut ornaments in metallic film bring attention to artefacts, conditions and moments that would otherwise be left unnoticed. The motif on the windows casts sunlight and shadow on the walls and floor. Time and weather reflects a change in character as the sunlight fades in and out. The warping of the perspective on the surfaces gives the viewers an ever shifting experience of the space over time.
