I travel from dawn to dusk #1 (2018)
Metallic film and sunlight
I Travel from Dawn to Dusk #1 (2018) was a temporary installation exhibited at Wergelandshaugen in Eidsvoll, Norway. Installed in the building’s central hallway, the work engaged directly with the original wooden relief paneling, whose geometric ornamentation served as a unique and historic backdrop.
The I Travel from Dawn to Dusk series is a response to the architectural qualities of Wergelandshaugen. I reinterpreted the building’s original geometric woodwork, translating it into hand-cut ornaments in metallic film, which were displayed on the existing windows. These reflective motifs highlight artifacts, conditions, and fleeting moments that might otherwise go unnoticed.
As sunlight passed through the windows, the installation cast shifting patterns of light and shadow onto the walls and floor. The interplay of time and weather altered the character of the space throughout the day. Warped perspectives across surfaces offered viewers an ever-changing experience of the architecture, shaped by movement, light, and reflection.
